Cape Fear Valley Health, a five-hospital health system based in Fayetteville, NC, has selected Intelerad’s IntelePACS as its new central radiology platform. The 700-bed health network has one of the highest-volume emergency departments in the country at 130,000 visits per year, and reads nearly 300,000 radiology studies per year.

“When we set out to find a new PACS, our goal was to find a state-of-the-art solution that could handle the needs of a growing health system,” said Dan Cameron, Cape Fear Valley’s director of radiology services. “IntelePACS not only meets these needs, but also provides our radiologists and referring physicians with a solution that is easy to use, which is also highly beneficial.”

As part of the deployment, Cape Fear Valley radiologists will also receive access to the InteleViewer diagnostic viewer, while the InteleConnect system will help facilitate results delivery to referring physicians, Intelerad’s Master Patient Index, and dedicated modules for breast imaging, peer review, and teaching files.

“Having deployed our solutions to large, metropolitan-based hospitals and level one trauma centers for over 15 years, we are confident that IntelePACS will make a positive impact at Cape Fear Valley,” said Randall Oka, president and CEO of Intelerad. “By streamlining their radiology workflows and facilitating results delivery, our solutions will help them to increase productivity, as well as their levels of patient care.”
