Monitor distributor Quest International recently introduced its MD Series of Medical flat-panel displays. The liquid crystal displays (LCDs) are manufactured by their partner Totoku International and include an extensive offering of 11 medical grade high resolution monitors for most medical modalities. The MD511L is a 5MP, 21.3-inch grayscale medical LCD and provides a native resolution of 2560 X 2048 or 2048 X 2560, viewable in both portrait or landscape orientation. This 5MP LCD is suited for PACS as well as displaying thoracic, CR and DR images. The MD203L is a 2MP, 20.1-inch multiscan grayscale medical LCD that can utilize the DOME MD2 or Barco (Metheus) 2MP video card.

Barco is introducing the MIVD 1218, a new 18″ grayscale LCD flat-panel display module for interventional radiology. The MIVD 1218 offers a plug-and-play replacement for legacy and current CRT displays in x-ray control and operating rooms. The 1 MegaPixel display module’s high brightness (>500 Cd/m_), ergonomics and artifact-free images make the MIVD 1218 the perfect solution for this application.

 CR unit
Konica (Wayne, N.J.)
Konica recently debuted the Xpress CR, which the company calls the world’s fastest dual bay CR system. The dual bay design allows two cassettes to be inserted in six seconds and a continuous insertion of four cassettes before one must be removed. Image preview occurs in 24 seconds with a total cycle time of 40 seconds, allowing the processing of approximately 90 plates per hour. The Xpress CR Control Station is a flat-panel touch screen which handles patient ID and post-processing supporting a DICOM modality worklist or manual data entry. Konica’s Xpress CR delivers the highest DQE by about 40 percent, according to the company.

Ampronix Inc. offers the 18.1″ RadiForce G11 grayscale LCD. The 1 mega-pixel LCD features an ultra slim bezel, front panel controls, integrated power supply and portrait or landscape viewing positions. The G11 offers both digital/analog DVI-I and a BNC adaptor allowing for three different signal configurations: 1. Composite video; 2. Video plus composite sync; and 3.
