The latest version of Carestream’s Image Suite Software has received FDA clearance for a Tablet Viewer option that enables x-ray image viewing via the iPad 2, an option already in use in many countries. The capability is available as an upgrade to customers using the previous generation of Image Suite Software.
Image Suite supports provides an image acquisition, processing, and storage platform for Carestream’s wireless DRX-1 systems, CR imaging systems, and an optional mini-PACS. The software enables Web-based patient scheduling, image review and reporting, and archiving solutions suitable for urgent care facilities, imaging centers, and physicians’ offices.
“With the Tablet Viewer, consultations can be more personal since patients will be able to see evidence of their disease or condition on X-ray images as a physician is explaining diagnosis and treatment options,” said Heidi McIntosh, global marketing manager for X-ray solutions at Carestream.
Physicians can also view patient images from home or any remote location on their iPad 2 devices by logging into the mini-PACS system. For more information, visit Carestream.
