Rhode Island Medical Imaging (RIMI) has installed its third magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system at the practice’s Blackstone Valley Medical Building location in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, increasing access to MR services for residents in northern Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
The 3T system has been available at RIMI’s East Greenwich and East Providence locations since 2011 and 2013, respectively. Designed with patient comfort in mind, the system features a wider opening to prevent claustrophobia and offers shorter scanning times than open MR systems. The system also includes a video entertainment system and DVD library with iPod, iPhone, and MP3 compatibility. Extended scanning hours are available for patient convenience.
RIMI is the only Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence in Rhode Island, and staffs specialists in all areas of medical imaging, including women’s imaging; bone, joint and muscle imaging; neurology; cardiology; and pediatrics.
