TUSTIN, Calif Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. announced today that Doug Ryan has been promoted to vice president, Marketing and Strategic Development, further increasing Toshiba’s ability to develop products to meet the clinical and performance needs of the U.S. market across all product lines. As the vice president of Marketing and Strategic Development, Ryan will head Toshiba’s business units, including CT, MR, Ultrasound and X-ray Vascular, as well as handle strategic marketing for Toshiba and its products in the medical imaging industry.

Ryan joined Toshiba in 2001 as a CT modality manager. He was named director, CT Business Unit, in 2002 and promoted to senior director, CT Business Unit, in 2007.

Under his leadership, the Aquilion® CT product line has received numerous accolades, including the number one ranking in CT from MD Buyline since 2002 (seven consecutive years). The Aquilion CT line has also been named Best in KLAS in the Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards reports for 2006 and 2007 for CT; Best in KLAS in the Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards reports for 2008 and 2009 for 64-detector row and above; and Frost & Sullivan’s “Healthcare Innovation Award in Cardiovascular Imaging” in 2008.
