Viztek will debut a versatile new platform to manage radiology workflow and referring physicians’ communication at the Radiological Society of North America’s Chicago conference December 1-6. The platform-agnostic system is compatible with MAC, Android, or Windows systems, and helps manage new interface requirements for meaningful use.

“Referrers simply want exams and results executed in a timely, efficient manner. Current vendor offerings produce process gaps, such as incomplete sign-offs, due to interface difficulties,” said Steve Deaton, Viztek’s vice president. “Viztek has gone the extra step to assure 100 percent full-feature functionality.”

According to the manufacturer, Viztek’s workflow eliminates much of the manual work needed to integrate patients’ electronic health records, increasing both efficiency and turn-around time. In the new system, scanning and faxing are no longer required, and a web portal manages staff members’ viewing privileges and access to various tools.

“The radiology market and its referring physicians have needed a seamless method for smooth exam scheduling and data review for too long, and we’re excited to bring this potential to the market through the EHR for the benefit of both patients and physicians,” said Josip Cermin, president of Viztek. “We plan to be an EHR vendor that stays in the market through meaningful use stage 4 and beyond.”
