Ion Beam Applications SA (IBA), a provider of proton therapy solutions for the treatment of cancer, will highlight the Proteus One at the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) annual meeting through July 24 in Austin, Tex. The system’s award-winning, patient-focused Ambient Experience was developed in conjunction with Philips.

The Proteus One is a compact Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy (IMPT) solution that has received FDA clearance for marketing in the United States. IBA will host a proton therapy symposium on July 22 to present the Proteus One’s features and demonstrate the system’s Ambient Experience design.

Developed with input from patient groups, healthcare staff, and experts, the Proteus One Ambient Experience integrates technology, spatial design, and workflow improvements to create comfortable, stress-reducing environments. Ambient Experience received a 2014 International Red Dot Best of the Best award for its ability to improve the patient experience.
