Royal Philips Electronics and the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists recently announced a joint effort to extend healthcare education in Europe and Asia.

Through a program called the International Access to Learning (IAL), the organizations hope to improve the quality of radiographic and radiation therapy practice globally. The program, which begins during the first quarter of this year, emphasizes increased access to education, sharing of best practices and improved collaboration between clinicians.

Kicking off the IAL program, participants in Estonia, Fiji and India will be able to select from Philips’ catalog of more than 300 accredited, clinical and business courses.  These courses will be available at no cost to ISRRT members, who can access program guidelines and registration via the ISRRT Web site.

After assessing the success of this first phase, the organizations plan to broaden the offerings to members in additional countries.
