Bothell, Wash.-based Fujifilm SonoSite announced its entry into the medical informatics space with the launch of a new point-of-care workflow technology, SonoSite Synchronicity. A new venture for the company, SonoSite Synchronicity software is designed specifically for point-of-care ultrasound to streamline and standardize clinical workflow while delivering administrative efficiencies with flexible credentialing tools.

“Fujifilm SonoSite has a proud legacy of introducing point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) to the healthcare market 20 years ago. We have listened to and collaborated closely with our customers, and I am proud that we are able to offer them a comprehensive workflow solution that focuses specifically on the dynamic environment that our customers navigate on a daily basis,” says Rich Fabian, president and chief operating officer of Fujifilm SonoSite, Inc.

“They asked for a solution that can securely centralize and standardize ultrasound exam data—and that is exactly what we built with our new SonoSite Synchronicity solution. Our customers no longer need to seek workflows solutions from third-party vendors. Instead, they can have confidence in a secure, single-vendor approach,” Fabian adds.

SonoSite Synchronicity workflow software is designed to help healthcare organizations optimize workflows, maximize financial return, improve quality assurance efficiency, and streamline credentialing processes:

  • SonoSite Synchronicity will integrate with existing data management systems, enabling the use of current user login credentials, and it can be implemented across multiple departments organization-wide to help enhance standardization.
  • A simplified reporting process ensures all exams are compliant with billing requirements, helping to maximize an organization’s bottom line.
  • Interfacing all point-of-care ultrasound devices with one, vendor-neutral, software solution helps maintain organization-wide standardization and compliance, FujiFilm SonoSite officials say.
  • SonoSite Synchronicity software helps to manage the credentialing process by providing easy access to documentation required for physicians to apply for additional ultrasound privileges.

“SonoSite Synchronicity software provides a comprehensive solution to administrative challenges faced by point-of-care clinicians. Enabling workflow related to credentialing, quality assurance, and billing ultimately improves patient care,” says Diku Mandavia, MD, senior vice president and chief medical officer of FujiFilm SonoSite, Inc. and FujiFilm Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc.
