April 6, 2007—The winner of the first Terumo Interventional Systems Writing Competition is Gale Passman of St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. The contest was cosponsored by Terumo Medical Corp, Tokyo, and the Education and Research Foundation of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), Albuquerque.

Contestants were asked to write an essay of 500 words or less to promote the work of interventional radiologic technologists; Passman’s essay, titled “Collaboration and Collegiality in the Lab Setting,” discusses the need for clinician cooperation in the interventional lab.

Passman was awarded funds to attend the 2007 meeting of the Association of Vascular and Interventional Radiographers. St. Vincent was awarded a $1,500 grant.
