Registration is open for the 2013 ASRT Educational Symposium, which takes place in June at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, NM.

Hosted by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the one-day educational conference offers radiologic technology professionals the opportunity to earn up to 6 Category A continuing education credits.

The first speaker is medical ethicist and international speaker Daniel O¹Hare, PhD, who will present “What Image Do You Have of Ethics?” O’Hare will discuss the importance of ethical reasoning in health care and offer insight on navigating between professional responsibility and doing what¹s best for patients.

Symposium attendees can choose up to five courses from the following three tracks:
• A general education track. This track features courses on topics such as working with obese patients in radiography and interprofessional communication and teamwork.
• A management track. This track includes courses on legal hiring practices, preparing for CMS and Joint Commission accreditation processes, and other workplace issues.
• A computed tomography track. This track features courses on topics like performing CT exams on children, an overview of thoracic vascular CT applications and imaging the human heart with cadaver heart comparison.

If participants register by May 20, the cost is $150 for ASRT members and $255 for nonmembers. There will be on-site registration at a cost of $170 for ASRT members and $300 for nonmembers. More than two hundred technologists from around the world are expected to attend.
