joining_hands - usedPractice Fusion, the San Francisco-based  electronic health record (EHR) provider, recently announced the hiring of four new members to its leadership team.

Joining the team are Matt Ackley as chief marketing officer, Dorothy Gemmell as senior vice president, life science practice and strategic partnerships, Tim Rauschenbach as vice president, customer service and support, and Dave Caldwell as senior vice president, enterprise solutions.

Additionally, Alan Black has joined Practice Fusion’s Board of Directors as its newest director and will also serve as the chairperson of the Audit Committee.

Ackley joins Practice Fusion from Marin Software, a leading cross-channel performance advertising cloud platform for advertisers and agencies, where he served as senior vice president for product and as chief marketing officer.  An industry veteran, Ackley previously served as eBay’s vice president of advertising and internet marketing for five years as well as serving as Google’s managing director of media and platforms market development for two years.  Ackley holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSE from Duke University.

Gemmell previously served as the president of Havas Life New York, a full-service advertising agency focused on serving health and wellness clients.  She also served as senior vice president, for sales and operations for WebMD, where she spent 13 years building that company’s revenue generating teams.  Prior to WebMD, Gemmell spent 10 years in sales, sales leadership, and marketing roles at Pharmacia, now Pfizer.  She is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal, Canada and holds a BSc in biochemistry.

Rauschenbach joins Practice Fusion from United Health Group, a national and worldwide leader in health care coverage, where he served as its director of customer service.  Prior to that, Rauschenbach served as the global vice president for customer service at Amazon.  With a broad spectrum of experience, Rauschenbach brings a deep expertise focused on maximizing customer experience and loyalty.  Rauschenbach holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Indiana State University.

Caldwell previously served as vice president of sales and marketing at Transcend Insights, a wholly owned subsidiary of Humana.  During his career, Caldwell has led sales, marketing, and client service organizations for three Fortune 500 companies, as well as established and grown the commercial operations for two emerging healthcare technology firms.  He has held executive roles with Thermo Fisher Scientific, Quest Diagnostics, Baxter Healthcare, and Focus Diagnostics.  Caldwell earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Black, who joins Practice Fusion as a Board member, will bring financial and industry experience and expertise in his roles as the company’s new director and audit committee chairperson.  He is the current CFO of Zendesk and previously served as the chief executive officer of Intelliden Inc., a software company that was acquired by IBM in January 2010.
