Picture 064Sectra has received the Dirk Bartz Prize for Visual Computing in Medicine 2015 for its interactive visualization table.

Organizer Eurographics Association hosts the biennial competition to honor computer graphics innovation in the medical field.

Equipped with a large touchscreen and image-viewing program, Sectra’s table displays 3D images that are taken by modern computer tomography and magnetic resonance cameras. Students can zoom in, rotate, or cut into a visualized body without using a scalpel or destroying the body. Furthermore, images can be used multiple times, allowing students to study the impact of various diseases on the anatomy in a manner that was previously impossible in training.

The award was presented to the team of research partners who jointly developed the visualization table, including C-research, Linköping University; the Interactive Institute Swedish ICT; the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization and Sectra.
