TeraMedica operational-dashboardRecently named the 2014 KLAS category leader for vendor neutral/image archive, TeraMedica debuted a new analytics platform and dashboard for its Evercore VNA at the 2015 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society meeting in Chicago.

The technology seeks to drive ongoing image strategy formulation and management, including managing current and future enterprise image storage costs in addition to positioning users for planning for the impact of hospital mergers and acquisitions on data volume and related expenses. It aims to simplify data management, detect and forecast imaging data trends, and access system performance at a glance.

Features include interactive reporting with dynamic data filtering, as well as one-click statistical data summaries and forecasts. The new release complements the company’s new user interface introduced as part of version 6.0 at last year’s Radiological Society of North America meeting.

“As the volume of data-intensive medical images continues to grow, image storage strategies and costs are escalating rapidly, even as storage technology itself becomes more affordable,” says Jim Prekop, president and CEO of TeraMedica.  “Predicting storage volume needs and planning strategies in advance can significantly minimize financial burdens on hospitals, and this tool is positioned to do that.”

With hospital mergers and acquisitions becoming a new trend, disparate IT systems are increasingly needing to be combined. “TeraMedica’s new platform applies advanced analytics to help facilities utilize existing image data information and trends for sound strategic and financial planning with regards to image storage,” Prekop said. “It fulfills an essential need in the hospital environment today.”

TeraMedica’s VNA is installed at a variety of healthcare organizations, including Duke Medicine, National Institutes of Health, and Mayo Clinic.
