Carestream Health received 66 new United States patents in 2014 for developments in radiology imaging, healthcare IT, dental imaging, and other areas, as well as 34 additional patents in European and Asian countries. The total slightly outstrips Carestream’s history in 2013, when the company earned 64 US patents and 33 patents internationally.

“We are committed to delivering products that are easy-to-use, highly reliable, and enable our customers to improve the quality and value of their services,” said Susan Parulski, chief patent counsel for Carestream. “These patents represent our ongoing investment in intellectual property to protect and advance the innovative technologies and systems developed by our technical and research experts.”

Notable 2014 patents include new image capture technologies related to the development of cone-beam CT systems designed for orthopaedic extremity imaging and enhancements to the company’s portfolio of healthcare IT systems for management, storage, and sharing of patient medical images and data.
